I want to express my gratitude for your time and skill that resulted in my successful total hip replacement. I hope you know that the staff at Good Samaritan holds you in such high esteem. It confirmed my choice of you as my Surgeon.
I also appreciate your kind manner and that you consider and care about the future quality of life after surgery for your patients.
I am healing well and see a beautiful light at the end this year-long tunnel.
When I was 38 years old, I was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis in my left knee. My running ended, but I was still able to do some other sports. As the years went on my knee was getting worse. Since I was also born with a smaller left leg, that knee took most of the impact.
Other doctors told me to wait on getting a full knee replacement because I was so young. They recommended Hyalagen injections and an Oxford partial knee that didn't work.
At 46 years old I could no longer water ski, dirt-bike ride or do my spinning classes, let alone function with just my daily activities without severe pain. In fact, right before my full knee replacement surgery I was on crutches with a knee that was bone to bone on the medial side, had arthritis in the other compartments, and had a very tight tendon. At 46 years old I got a full knee replacement by Dr. Gregory Belcher. He also released my tight tendon in the back of my knee and cleaned up all the scar tissue from a surgery I had at 5 years old. After 3 months I can walk and ride my bike again. I feel like I'm getting my quality of life back and am looking forward to water skiing again. Dr. Belcher is an outstanding doctor with an excellent bedside manner. His care for me before, during, and after my surgery was stellar.
Thank you Dr. Belcher
Mr. Kwalick came for an evaluation in 2005 because he had been suffering for years with stiff, painful knees due to years of trauma from playing college and professional football.
Mr. Kwalick is a former professional football player who played tight end for the SF 49ers and the Oakland Raiders. Some of his esteemed accomplishments include: 7th pick in the first round of the 1969 NFL draft, being a 3 time pro bowler and induction into the College Hall of Fame. His Penn State college coach, the Legendary Joe Paterna, said "He's what God had in mind when he made a football player."
Prior to having knee surgery, he had tried medications, injections, and physical therapy. Instead of resorting to lifetime use of a cane, he decided to have both knees replaced at the same time.
Currently, he enjoys pain-free knees, he has full range of motion in both knees, he no longer uses a cane and is extremely happy with his "new knees".
Dr. Belcher On 1/14/08 during Bill Bouch's surgery you told me his leg was so solid he would dance on it. Thought you would like to see it come to pass! Thank you for the oportunity to watch the surgery and for letting me help Bill to dance again. I hope you send us more future dancers.
Warmest Regards
